Namasthe.

It is always a delight to know  the instances and happenings during the life of

our great masters and one instance during the life of Maha Periyavaal of Kaanchi

is narrated below.

In the Kanchi Mutt generally there would be dedicated cook for the Biksha of

each of the the Acharyal.

The cook while serving the Maha Swamy noted one day that the Acharyal seemed to

like a variety of Spinach and he decided on the next day to serve the Maha

Swamy, a portion more than what he had served on the previous day. Maha Swamy

consumed this extra portion also.

Encouraged by the events, on the third day the cook, prepared a substantial

quantity of the spinach and kept it before Swamy for Bhiksha.

Noting this, Maha Swamy immediately ordered for big ball of fresh Cow dung and

he mixed it with rice and ate it without any resevation, leaving the entire

spinach. The news spread in the Mutt and that is how we know it.

This clearly demonstrates how our masters have mastered the sense of taste.

There are other instances also involing control of smell, touch etc

Regards
