Namasthe.

In response to my mail to the group on Swine Flu, One member had expressed his

sadness to my personal ID.

I would like to add now, when we suggest for praying for H1N1 virus

victims, why should we limit our prayers singularly to this and Why not AIDS

virus and the list of virus would be endless.

I still think that what is happening in the Cosmos is perfect as the great Mind

of Ambaaji is always at work and SHE knows what is Best. This includes

war, natural disasters, disease and all attributable to Mother Kaali.

Therefore it is important that prayers should be Nishkamya and should be

done for prayers sake.

While it is not unreasonable to pray for our personal favours,I personally think

that we should not ask ambaa even for favors as She knows what we deserve.

Ganapathy

I have copied and pasted a mail addressed to USBrahmins and this

would rightly describe some of the happenings in our dharmic society and is very

unfortunate.

Dear Sir,

Pariharams or Grahasanthis  are rarely effective in Kaliyuga. In the first place

the afflicted party  does not have full faith in the  efficacy of  rituals  for

mitigation or warding off of  current or impending sufferings/difficul

ties/mishaps.  Secondly, those who undertake to perform the rituals  have

become professional vaideeka contractors and their attention is more on their

rewards rather than on the ritual proper. To add to this problem, quacks and

pseudo purohits either with half or no knowledge of  requisite rituals  have

sprung up. Is there any  Grihasta or Yajaman  in India who can  assess  whether

the Vadhyars are following correct procedures, using relevant Mantras and

Samagris and  are  performing the Santihs and Pariharams as prescribed?

Ignorance of grihastas on Astrology as well as on relevant remedial measures

is being taken advantage.  Obviously,  between   concerned Purohits and some

Astrologers some

collusion/collabora tion   for ulterior gain might be existing.  I have heard

about an astrologer who had experience in  Navavarana Pooja  prescribing  to

every client   Navavarana  pooja to be performed at the residence of  his client

by the astrologer himself and also charging a heavy Dakshina for the services.

Later in order to meet the demands of his friend who was a Purohit, the

astrologer also used to prescribe  for every client  Navagraha Homam and

Sudarsana Homam  in addition to Navavarana Pooja   and he used to insist that

the homams were to be got done by so and so, who was his friend. Obviously, some

kickback arrangement/ agreement must be in place between the Astrologer and the

Purohit just  as in the medical profession, I am told, a general practitioner

in India gets some  agreed quantum of money from a Specialist Doctor for each

patient referred by the G.P. to the Specialist.  The  truth regarding  the

prescription of  unnecessary homams  were admitted by the Astrologer to a

client  as a result of the Purohit refusing to pass on  the 'kickback' money to

the Astrologer,  a few months after the  arrangement started. What I am trying

to point out is that unwanted/unrequired  rituals are being thrust

upon gullible 'grahastas' by some unscrupulous astrologers.  So long as the

monetary demands of  the Astrologer/ Vadhyar concerned is reasonable,

the gullible Grihastas  might not grudge or drag their feet from spending money

on the pariharams.  There are also a few astrologers who combine in them the

function of a astrologer and vadhyar.. The  damage to the grihasta  is more in

such cases.

Re: [asthikasamaj] Fw: [brahmin_world] puja service @ kalahasti temple

Dear Sir,

What you say is very correct.  Business minded people with intention of getting

business in their respective professions have established themselves as being in

welfare of Hindus by sharing their knowledge. We made pilgramage to Rameswar did

Naga Pratista. The result is zero.  It was not known at that time that my wife

had TB for the Kidney since child hood and this was suspected at very late time,

since there were no known methods of practical test. It had damaged all nearby

organs. It is not possible for to carry on full term.  Jyotishis could not tell

this but finds Sarpa dosha and recommand Naga Pritishta. These astrologers of

40years back were good for they do not take up Naga Pratishta themselves .  Here

internet Astrology advisors advise Pooja which they alone should do. I requested

one prominent astrologer in these coloums to predict success of establishing to

be managed by a local scheduled bank, since my involvement is not possible and

private people are not acceptable. In my first attempt the Bank had

discussed the proposal in its EC meeting at length and dropped it.  Since

sacrifice involved  seem great they are soft to hear.  At this point I requested

astrologer in these coloumns. He proposed by himself.  That is business  and

next day morning itself he accosted in the chat in which I am not good.

So what you say is literally correct sir.

>Dear Brahminworld Members,

>This posting is in the nature of soliciting/advertis ing. Such Santihs

undertaken  at Kalahasti and  at other places  like Tirunageswaram and

Rameswaram  on the specific advice of astrologers have not given the desired

result in many cases. You can go ahead and perform the pooja  if you want to

lighten your purse. Best of luck!
