in fact even our pitru devathas, kula devathas etc., can be worshipped in the

centre bindu stana .

In many of the families till the Pitru Karmas are over on any Amavasya or

shraddha day no light is even lit in the puja room and the family members are

prohibted from wearing the signs on their forehead like Vibhuthy or Kumkum and

no Japa mala is also worn like rudraksha or Tulsi at the time of doing tarpana

or shraddha karma.

I guess that this system must have come out due to the extraordinary respect

that we carry for our forefathers apart from spiritual injunctions. Therefore

the aforesaid statement looks very strange.

Rituals for Pitru Devatas are Done in Apasavya Vidhana. Pitru kaarya is a

highly Discplined and a great Prayoga for satisfying the Pitru Devata's .

It is said as shraddha Prayoga because this Ritual is performed using three

Important Articles being Tila (Sesame),Udaka (water) and Kusa or Darbha. The

pride and Power of Dakshina Achari because offerings should be done only through

Kusa agra (tips of dharbha grass). The Prathama Bhayankara Astra the Great

Brahma Astra Prayoga is said to be done with a single Kusa Agra (These are being

mentioned only for admiring Kusas only). When tila (Agni tatva because it

contains oil which is the fuel and the colour black signifying the Bhoomi or

Earth Tatva). The offerings made with tila and dharba and pouring udaka becomes

a Complete Offering or prayoga.

Offerings given to Pitru Devas with whole hearted Sincerity is said to transform

into food of their comfort they become:-

If the Pitru Devatas in accordance with their good deeds become Devata

svaroopa's the offerings we make to the Bhokta's transforms into Amrita

(nector). If they become Gandharvas it transforms into Luxury Food. If they take

the birth of Animals it transforms into Grass on Becoming Serpents its Air.On

taking the Birth of Yaksha the offering is a Paaniyam (Soft Drink). On Rakshasha

(Demon) it's Mamsa (Meat), for a Primitive it's Madyam (Alcohol) and if its

Preta it may be blood or water. For Manava Janma (human birth) the offering is

Grand and delicious food.

With The ritual of Agnoukarana offerings are made to the Devatas, Brahmana

Bhojana (food served to the Brahmins) is for Heavinly souls.

Pinda Pradana (A ritual done with Boiled rice lumps) is for souls in Yama loka.

And the left overs is for Souls in Hell.

So with shraddha Prayoga offering will reach every intended Pitru in whatever

form they may be.

According to Manu smriti there is Madhya (middle) Pinda Significance. A Orthodox

house wifes can take in the Madhya pinda for the sake of carryinga Healthy

Intelligent Child.

Pitru Devas are supposed to be great rescuers in Danger it's our Duty to give

them our Offerings to our might.

Lastly it hurts when people mix Subha Karyas with Apa savya Karyas one should

know the Difference between them. Vama Acharis are forbidden from performing

this important ritual.
