Namaskaram Sei Sri Ram Garu

As I had mentioned at the time of joining the group after a vision I am doing

Sahasranama Parayana and Durga Sapthas;oki {puja on

Tusedays,Fridays & Saturdays. I am also doing Devimahthmya Parayana on

panchami.Navami & Pournima.But I have not been initiated .

Can I seek the blessings of our Family Guru the Mahaswamigal of Sringeri.

Asa lay man I will appreeciate your response.

Dear Sir,

 

You can do the Devi Mahatmyam parayana without navakshari mantra but during

parayana shad-angas should be AVOIDED ie., kavacha, argala,kilaka, ratri sukta,

navakshari japaa, devi sukta, rahasya traya.

 

Devi Mahatmyam, as a part of Markandeya Purana can be chanted just as one chants

Devi Bhagavata Purana. Sapthasathi alongwith Shadangas become Mala mantra and

hence restrictions.

 

Seek the blessing of Shri Bharati Tirtha Swamigal and get yourself initiated in

Navakshari. But there are certain pre-requisites for the navakshari initiation.

You must have been initiated in Siva Panchakshari, Mahaganapati, Medha

Dakshinamurthy, Bala & Saubhagya Vidya. Only then Navakshari initiation.

 

Anyways, Guru is the final authority for this. Goddess Sarada blesses Her

children through Jagatgurus of Sringeri. Seek the advice of swamigal.
