Guest guest
Dear Shri Sriram, Thank you for mentioning this. On our last trip to India, we offered our prayers to Garbharakshambika and Mullaivananathar at this sacred sthalam. It was around the time of ADi perukku, and we will never forget the lovely views of Mother Kaveri and the lush fields on the way from Trichy to Tiruvarur and then to Thirukkarugaavur and Thanjavur and back to Trichy. The beauty of the Mother at all these places is beyond compare. In Thirukkarugaavur, it feels like the Mother is looking at HER children with HER large eyes, no matter where you are in the sanctorum. The compassion in HER eyes has to be seen in person, it cannot be described adequately in words. The efficacy of prayer to Garbharakshambika is one that we can personally attest to. The Lord is believed to cure incurable diseases. While it is best to go to the temple if one can, it is also possible to have the temple authorities perform archana on your behalf and send you prasadams/instructions if one cannot visit. Guest guest
Pranams Sridhar, Thank you for your compliments. Infact, several miraculous incidents were reported where Mother Garbharakshambikai helped Her devotees especially ladies from the accidents of miscarriages and abortions. Guest guest
The holy temple of Sri Mathrubhutheswarar at Rock Fort, Trichy is also one where people pray for easy and safe deliveries Sri Mathrubhutheswarar blesses all ladies with an easy and safe deliveries. Legend has it that a Chettiar woman was in her advanced stages of pregnancy and was expecting her mother to assist with the delivery. When the mother reached the river, it was in spate and she could not cross. She prayed to the Lord and hearing her words, The Lord, took the guise of the mother and assisted the Chettiar woman in her pregancy and post care. Later when the mother finally could cross the river and came to her house, she was shocked to see herself there. Immediately The Lord vanished and gave His Darshan to the lady and her mother and forever resided in the temple as Mathrubhutheswarar. This is how the Legend goes Even today, people carry bunches of bananas from the base of the hill and tie it near the door of the main temple (mid way up the hill). As the bananas ripen and fall off the bunch, it is believed that a safe delivery will happen and mother and child will be safe. The bananas are offered to all pilgrims as prasadam We prayed at both the Shrines of Garbarakshambikai and Mathrubhuteswarar and by the Grace of the Divine Couple, all went well. Guest guest
Dear Mr.Krish Greetings! I had visited this temple(since my wife was advised no travel by the doc) when my wife was pregnant since she had some placenta complications. If the lady is praying for a child she needs to visit since they give a ghee after the pooja which needs to eaten there in the Sannadhi of the divine mother. They also will give the ghee to be consumed for 48 days or like that. For a safe delivery if possible the lady must visit or else post delvery she needs to come with the child. They have a craddle there where she needs to place the baby and offer a pooja. I happened to learn about this temple from a well wisher and then thru this blog of Mr.Venkat a good Samaritan http://www.starsai.com/garbarakshambigai.html If the lady is advised to travel then she can visit the temple, else the spouse may visit. Its located mid way on Thanjavur and Kumbakonam road. If you are traveling by train you can alight at Papanasam station (check IRCTC for more info). When i went to the temple i passed this station and you reach a small stream of water which needs to crossed by foot (i guess about 2-3kms) or auto rickshaws stationed there. you may also browse this for more http://www.sri-karparakshambigai-temple.com/ I have a CD of the slogams by Sudha Raghunathan, i can give you a copy if you are in Bangalore. Else i can give you an online link to buy that CD. thanks once again All the best May Divine mother shower her blessings Karthik On Tue, Nov 17, 2009 at 9:24 AM, krish <krish43 wrote: > > > Dear friends, > > Learnt with interest all details on Sree Garbharakshambika. > > Please guide me whether this temple could be visited by a lady during her > pregnancy (3 months) and get the blessings of the Divine Mother. > > krish > > <%40>, " Venkata > Sriram " <sriram_sapthasathi wrote: > > > > Pranams Sridhar, > > > > Thank you for your compliments. Guest guest
Absolutely You could visit this temple any time. There is no time limit specified. If the lady is able, by all means you should go and visit. It is a short drive from Kumabakonam and very easily accesible by road Ranga _____ On Behalf Of krish Tuesday, November 17, 2009 11:54 AM Re: Garbharakshambikai Dear friends, Learnt with interest all details on Sree Garbharakshambika. Please guide me whether this temple could be visited by a lady during her pregnancy (3 months) and get the blessings of the Divine Mother. krish @ <%40> .com, " Venkata Sriram " <sriram_sapthasathi wrote: > > Pranams Sridhar, > > Thank you for your compliments.
