Guest guest
Dear learned friends, Pranams to all. The Sri Lalitha Shastranamam consists of three athyayas, 1.Poorvapagam 2. Lalitha sahasranama stotra ghadanam, 3. Palashruthi. While doing the parayanam is it essential that one should read all the three athyayas or one can do the parayanam of the 2nd atyaya only. I request any of my learned friends to clarify my doubt. Krish
Guest guest
It is essential that all the three require recitation as a requirement.but like Sri LS, where the Poorvam and Uththaram are longer and take more time in the present fast life ,One may recite appropriate portions of Poorvam and uththaram ,after recognising the meaning of the retained slokas.this too as a last measure only if time is short. Deviating and condensing.the Palashruthi is only my /our own convenience and not as per sanction..I have condensed and recite as per this. One more aspect is that Palashruthi of any sloka /sahasranama shall be recited without fail .Palasruthi for LS is highly enjoyable.ambal gives directions/blessings as if she talks to us directly. regards; ARNatarajan krish Saturday, November 28, 2009 1:56 AM Sri Lalitha Sahasranama Stothram. - Parayanam Dear learned friends, Pranams to all. Guest guest
Dear all, Pranam, I believe that Sri Bhaskarraya has provided adequate clarification in SoubhAgyabhAskara on this subject. In his commentry on " ChakrAdhirAjamabhyarchya japtvA panchadashAksharIM... " he has made it clear that pUrvapIthIka and uttarapIthIka are Avasshyaka Angas of LS pAtha or LS nAmArchanA and can not be omitted. In verious prayogAs illustrated subsequently also he makes it a point to mention about reciting pUrvapIthIka and uttarapIthIka. So I would assume that rather than reciting multiple Avruttis of just 1000 nAmAs, it is beter (and also recommended) to have one complete Avrutti with PP and UP. Guest guest
Pranams Pramod, <<<<<pUrvapIthIka and uttarapIthIka are Avasshyaka Angas of LS pAtha or LS nAmArchanA and can not be omitted>>>> Pls. check the above statement. As per my understanding Shri Bhaskara Makhin did not mention that PP & UP are mandatory unless & until you are performing LS Purascharana with Sahasra brAhmaNa Bhojana. But yes, as you said, it is generally a good practice. Why because, as the name suggests " Saubhagya Bhaskara " , the entire LS alongwith PP & UP are divided into 12 kalas which are analogus to 12 kalas of Bhaskara. They are: tapini kaLA tApini kaLA dhumra kaLA marichini kaLA Jwalini kaLA Ruchih kaLA Shushumna kaLA Bhogada kaLA Vishwa kaLA Bodhini kaLA Dharini kaLA Kshama kaLA So, the parayana of PP, LS & UP becomes are complete package in itself with 12 kaLAs of Aditya which is Saubhagya Dayini. And hence, the name " Saubhagya Bhaskara " - " the Auspicious Self-luminous Principle " . This " Self-luminous Principle " is analogus with the Bhaskara / Aditya / Surya of 12 kalAs. Like this there are several interpretations / Legends to the name " Saubhagya Bhaskara " that are popular in the tradition. One of the scholars say that the name itself is encoded with " Sauh " in Saubhagya Bhaskara which is the principle of Evolution. Just my 2 cents.. regs, sriram , " swati_p_deval " <pramod.deval wrote: > > Dear all, Pranam, > > I believe that Sri Bhaskarraya has provided adequate clarification in SoubhAgyabhAskara on this subject.
