Few decades back a couple from US,devoted to Maha Swamy bought a very expensive

silk saree with gold jari and placed it before the Periyavaal, with a request

that the saree be used to adorn Kanchi Kamaakshy.

 

Periyavaal looked at the saree and called an aide and instructed him to use that

saree for the Chandi Homa purnahuthy, which was being conducted that day.

 

The couple seemed very upset that the expensive saree was being used to put in

fire.

 

Thereafter the couple after witnessing the Chandi Homa, went to have the darshan

of Kaamakshi in the evening and to their utter surprise, they saw Kaamakshy was

adorned with the same saree.
