I saw in a book " Vaiddegam and Panpadum ( Vedas,Sastras and Culture ) authored by the noted Sastrigal Sri Sarma Sastriagl of Chennai that our Sastras do not permit planting and growing Betel Leaf Creeper in our home. Guest guest
Namaste. Tradition varies from region to region. Probably this may be one. There are 3 varities of betel creepers in my guruputri's house. Of the three, two are famous ie., rampyari & calcutta variety. Infact, our grandmothers (in our region) used to prescribe the chewing of fine tender betel leaf to infants for shaping the tongue so that they may not stammer while learing to talk during their childhood. regs, sriram , ganapathy = = vijaya <srividya101 wrote: > > Namasthe . > > As no pramanam is quoted Can anybody discuss this topic with appropriate references. > > > > > With Warm Regards > > Ganapathy -- Vijyalakshmy >
