Guest guest
Namaste. Among the various upacharas to Lalitha, Chatushshasti (64) Upacharas has got its own importance. 64 represent ashta-ashtaka vibhAjana (8 x 8 classifications) of Matrika Devis; also represent 64 yoginis; also represent 64 prastaras of varna mala. Shri Umanandanatha in his Nityotsava mentions this upachara bhavana with various articles which is not for un-initiates in the mula vidya which is a part of navavarana archana. This mode is also beyond the reach of a novice. To make this 64 upacharas accessible to adhamAs like us (me too!!!), a great Tantric, Yogi, Srividya Upasaka and Agama Sastra Scholar by name " Pattesalinga Ayyavaru " out of compassion towards us compiled a simple form of Chatush-shashti Upachara Puja Vidhi " with Purusha Suktam, Srisuktam & Durga Suktam. In my couple of subsequent posts, I will detail out these 64 upacharas as detailed out by " Pattisalinga Aradhya Ayyavaru " . Before that a short profile of this remarkable yogi. **************** Shri Pattesha Linga Yogi ****************** Shri Pattisalinga Yogi was an aradhya brahmana who followed Sroutha Saiva Siddhanta. A great devotee of Srisaila Mallikarjuna & Devi Bhramarambika. A mantra siddha in Siva Panchakshari. Received instructions in " MahAprAsAda Vidya " of Urdhwa Amnaya from none other than Devi Bhramarambika Herself typically in a dream. To his credit is the sublimation of certain rituals at Srisailam and rectification of vastu at the temple premises. A great tapasvin and siddha purusha of highest order who played with Goddess Bhramarambika of Srisailam. Used to prepare wonderful vibhuti (bhasma) with ayurvedic herbs that had the potency to cure various incurable ailments. There were 2 more siddha purushas of Srividya. One was Shri Appayya Yogi who shed his mortal coil by merging & disappearing himself in the Linga at Rudraksha Mutt (one among 5 mutts) of Srisailam (just like Tirujnana Sambandar in Chidambaram). Shri Appayya Yogi used to wear several rudrakshas on his body. The Linga bears the impressions of Rudrakshas that describe the final merger of this great yogi here. Another was Shri Yadayya who had some genuine version of Dakshinamurthy Samhita. ****************** The divine blessings of all the three siddha purushas were on my gurunatha during his stay at Srisailam for 2 months. He was miraculous guided by Shri Appayya Yogi & Shri Pattesalinga Yogi. This puja paddhati with 64 upacharas is a simple mode of worship gifted by Shri Patteshalinga Yogi with simple Purusha / Sri & Durga Suktam. Nevertheless to say that one should have adhikara & initiation in Purusha Sukta, Srisukta & Durga Sukta. ………….. to be continued…………… Regs, Sriram
