Guest guest
Namaste. This Bagala Vidya is traced back to Atharva Veda that describes two forces ie., Ghora Angiras & Atharva Angiras. The Atharva Angiras is deployed with a an inherent force called " Valga " . This " Valga " force in Atharva Veda is Deployed for " Sthambana Prayoga " which is also called Paralysing Force. This force is deployed against The enemies towards paralyzing them, making them dumb in debates etc. Such deployments are mentioned in The tantra called " Sankhyayana Tantra " . " Bagala " is the corrupted form in Tantra Shastra whose source is " Valga " Vak in Atharva Veda. It is generally a known fact that Bagala Upasana is done wearing yellow clothes; japa is done with the beads made of turmeric balls and Usage of yellow colour flowers etc. Even the Devi sports with yellow sars which is of golden hue as She is described as " pIta varNa " . Some scholars are of the view that this " pIta varNa " denotes Her Swarupa of " Sucking & Arresting all the vowels & consonants " and hence " pIta (sucking) – varna (varnamAla) " that denotes Her tattva of MANTRA STAMBHANA VIDYA " . So, to maintain the guptatva of the tantra (as usual), pItavarNa has been taken as " yellow colour " by ordinary common people. For such a Devi, a wonderful temple has been erected by Shri Vankhandeshwar Maharaj at Datia, MP that sports with 2 hands. The dhyana sloka is : // jihvAgra mAdAya karENa dEvIm vAmEna shatrUn parapIDayantIm gadAbhighAtEna cha dakShiNEna pItAmbaryAm dvibhujAm namAmi // Here Bagalamukhi Devi is described having 2 hands. Her left hand is shown holding the stretched tongue Of a demon that describes her vAk sthambana tattva and Her right hand is shown holding the weapon mace (gadA) Regs, Sriram
