Guest guest
Everyone treasures one's own self for the satisfaction of which all karmas are done. We place this 'self' at the highest pedastal and worship. This turns into egotism Namasthe. This is specially True to Maha Tapasvies in the Sadhana. Maha Swamy used to say that we have to be specially careful if we are doing intense puja japa etc. Other wise the Ego would suddenly show its ugly head and say Who Can do the Sadhana like " ME " With Warm Regards Ganapathy -- Vijyalakshmy
Guest guest
Ganapathy-Vijayaji, I admire your succinct way of putting the truth. IMHO the best sadhana is the destruction of the ego. Bhagavan Ramana said: " Mind is a bundle of thoughts only. All thoughts proceed from the 'I' thought. Look for the source of the 'I' thought and remain there. " This 'I' thought is the ego. When you look for (become aware of) this 'I' thought it disappears. But it reappears without your knowledge. The saadhana is to keep pushing it to its source viz. the Aathman. Ultimately this will be successful and the person becomes jeevan muktha. During the process we become aware of all the upanishadhic knowledge, we become dharmishtaas and all the other saadhanas get fructified. But surrendering to a Guru is the initial step.
