Guest guest
Namaste! I was away for a long weekend in mid-January, and put Shakti Sadhana on " No Mail. " I have re-logged on, but am mostly lurking. My thanks to the folks who E-mailed me to ask where (and how) I have been. My health is not good. In addition to the usual arthritis and psoriasis, last week I developed a kind of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (I've had this before). I'm not eating much, because anything I eat goes right through me. Doctors suggested waiting it out, but it's been almost seven days of " not being house-broken. " My Western birthday was earlier this week (February 26, other birthdata: year -- 1951, location -- New York City, time -- 8:06 AM). The Moon will return to my Nakshatra of Svati next Wednesday/Thursday. A good time to do healing work? Chanting the Maha Mritunjaya? And the Eclipse tomorrow (Saturday) is also a good time for healing work, no? I'd like to arrange for a Puja to be done for my improved health. Anyone with suggestions as to where to have it done, and by whom? I suspect that in addition to getting Lord Shiva's assist, I should invoke the blessings of Mother Durga. Astrologers and ritual designers are asked for suggestions. My Rheumatologist has suggested that I treat my health problems with a twice-monthly injection of Humira, a " biologic " drug that seems to help in relieving psoriasis and arthritis. It has scary side-effects. I have very mixed feelings about this Humira! I am always open for healing energies. -- Len/ Kalipadma
Guest guest
Hi Len, I took a quick look at your chart. I have pisces ascendant with Mars and Venus with the birth time you provided. Venus being exalted in the first, so physical appearance is attractive in your earlier years or even now. 5th lord Moon in the house of Venus, so I guess your devotional practices are mainly Goddess-centric and drawn to female deities. Also seems like you experienced separation from parents, if not physical at least emotional. Right now your are running Me-Ra dasha both in the 12th house - this is clearly a time of increasing expenses and illnesses (which you have indicated already); this period will last till 2008 so remedial measures including prayers to Mercury and Rahu and their overlords is highly recommended. Tomorrow's eclipse(as well as the coming solar eclipse) has extra significance for you since it occurs in the 12th house and 3 planets return to their natal location (in the 12th), so if the whole day was spent in japa, it would be well spent. I personally feel that rather than order poojas to be done elsewhere(which is not bad), all practices done by oneself gives the best benefits. Daily japa of at least 5 hours with a mantra that you were initiated in, if you can afford to spent that much time. If sitting for 5 hours at a stretch is difficult, then this must be done in the yogic manner, which is to do japa controlling the breath(the sagarbha variety of pranayama in the Devi Gita), breathing no more than 3-4 times per minute and using the complete breath (for a good reference on this, read science of breath by ramacharaka and also in Swami Sivananda's books); when japa is done in this manner, no tiredness is felt and it is pure ecstacy. Hope that helps and wish you a speedy recovery! , " Len Rosenberg " <kalipadma108 wrote: > > Namaste! I was away for a long weekend in mid-January, and put Shakti > Sadhana on " No Mail. Guest guest
OM NAMAH SIVAYA Len, sorry to hear of your health difficulties. have your ever tried something like the master cleanser fast. it was developed by Stanley Burroughs in the '40s. basically it is a fast of lemons, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper as a detoxer for a period of time. my Shakti and i have been doing it for a week or so as a precursor to the upcoming fullmoon and eclipse. it has been very nice. i have also read of people with serious health issues staying with this for lengthy time periods in extreme examples with pretty amazing results. i am of no authority to give advice but you might check it out if you haven't already. http://www.mastercleanser.com/ God luck and God Bless.
