Guest guest
Sir, The word mariyadha or mariyaadai is used in Tamil in the sense of 'respect', but the Sanskrit word 'maryaadaa' means limit, maryaadita means limited the same as 'maana' which means 'measure' or a unit of measurement which connotes a finite measurement; the shade of meaning connecting these words with 'respect' or 'honour' comes from one knowing one's limit and keeping one's demeanour within that. Lord Rama earned the epithet of being maryaadaa-purushottama - though he was a chakravarti, he was polite to everyone. He did not impose himself on anyone, but limited himself to the Shaastric code of conduct, thus becoming respectable and honourable. My two cents. Guest guest
In sambudhyanta maalaa where we are apostrophying (addressing) the devis, Om Aim Hrim Shrim is uttered once in the beginning only and not with every name. This recension ends with Swaha and the reversed order of vyashti and samashti pranava. This is the most popular version of Khadgamala. There are nama-anta, swaha anta, tarpana-anta etc., etc., kahdgamala which vary according to the tithee (lunar day). All the versions are available in SS site. When and where did pranava get added on to sreevidya mantras?? Tritaaree as far as I know is the tantreeka pranava just as " IM " is the vaideeka pranava. (see taam padmineem eem sharanamaham prapadye.. " in sree sookta. When did OM become the pranava and how? interesting questions eh??
