Guest guest
mukham bindum krutvaa kuchayougamadhastasya tadadhou hakaaraardhamdhyaeyddharamahishi tey manmadha kalaam sasadyah samskshobham nayati vanitaa ityadi laghu trilokeemapyaasu bhramayati raveendu stana yougaam (with) Face (as the first) Point, Making it so, Two points below that(first point); (and at) Its Bottom Ha Syllable Half (half of the two points representing Ha sound); (and those who) Pray(oh) Hara's Queen To You; (by performing the worship as required in) Kama Kala (Puja) Instantly( they become capable of) Agitating (and) Moving Women ( drawing them towards them); (but) Such (powers are) Trivial (indeed !) The Three Worlds Even Lie (before them like) Illusion Created (of a magnificently beautiful female form with splendour of) Sun and Moon Combined The first 2 lines of this verse appear in many other sources if we count the commentaries also in reference to Kama Kala Vidya. Adi Sankara was Adi(the First) only in the line of Sankaracharyas. In the tradition of Sri Vidya he was only a link in the long chain going up to Dattatreya and continuing after Adi Sankara. With his great intellect and poetic gifts he was able to summarise and present elegantly and in a more ea silly understood form the essence of Sanatan Dharma(Ancient Tradition). There by he revised and reestablished what was becoming scattered and obsolete. The Sanatana Dharma was also under threat from other religions which sprung up from it but mutated into different forms. His vigorous defence saved it from extinction. Therefore the content of Soundarya Lahari is found also in many other sources. He used his great skills to mould it into a poetic form with the correct Chandas(meter) and sanctified into Mantras. The meaning of the First 2 lines is taken from the explanation given in " KAMAKALAIKAKSHARI MANVARDHAH ' " ie the meaning of Kamakalaikakshari Maha Mantra. In the Kama Kala Bija, first comes a point in the position of the face.which represents the Sun. Below are a pair of points representing the Moon and Fire. The fourth point is in the waist region. The worship of combination of all these points results in the appearance of Kamakshi to the devotee. It is this worship through most powerful(Bija Raja) of the Bijas that results in the appearance of the 16 Kalas. This is the root of all Knowledge. Gradually the devotee will gain understanding of various aspects and perceive the Sat Chidananda Roopa, manifestation of true and eternal bliss. Adi Sankara is also conveying in this verse the same meaning indirectly. Awakening of Kundalini is a spiritual experience consisting of various stages. In some sources it is called Nada Bindu Kala. The Sadhaka has to pass through the various zones or Mandalas associated with Sun. Fire and Moon and can only then reach towards a Glimpse of this supreme power. This is also hinted in Verse 14 of Soundarya Lahari This also refers to the Bija Mantra. Devi is also called " Heemkarakshara Bindu Madhya Vasita " ie The dot on the letter Heem in Devanagari script. Three points forming a triangle is considered in Tantric script as representation of long E sound. In Manvardhah cited above and other places there is reference to " Eeekaarordhva gatey Bindu " ie the point at the top of letter Eee(long). Combined with fourth Point the long E becomes Eeem and from this basic sound are formed Hreem., Kleem and Shreem Practise of this Vidya results in knowledge which is power. A person with such power can easily attract women. But why bother with such trivial things when the whole world lies before you. The indirect message is to continue the practise until one sees truth and does not need trivial pleasures any more. Yatra is a circle in which Hreem, Hreem, Hreem, Hreem are placed symmetrically forming 2 identical equilateral triangles(if joinig lines are drawn) one pointing upwards and other downwards. Expected result of Upasana is obvious from the verse, accquiring magnetic power to draw women Here’s a new way to find what you're looking for - Answers
