Guest guest
A member contacted me earlier today and asked whether I knew of any powerful Devi temples in the Toronto area ... I recommended the unique and wonderful Sri Rajarajeshwari Peetham in Rush, N.Y., which is about a 3-hour drive from Toronto: http://tinyurl.com/39yyaw But I do not know Toronto itself that well; I've only been there a few times. Can any of our Canada-based members help? Thanks! DB
Guest guest
I think there are over 100 temples in the Toronto area. Here are a some: 1. The Hindu Temple: www.thehindutemple.ca - amazingly powerful (and playful) Ganesha, Balaji, Durga, Lakshmi (very, very powerful) and Parvati (very powerful). It is one of the oldest and the largest temple in north America 2. Sri Durka temple http://www.durka.com/ - amazingly clean and detailed work on the walls and ceiling. Very powerful temple. The owner priest is very knowledgeable. 3. Bhuvaneswari temple http://www.sbtemple.com/ Again, the owner priest comes from a long line of Devi worshippers. Of the non-south india ones 4. Devi Mandir - (either Guyanese or Trinidadian) http://www.devimandir.com/ 5. Vaishno Devi temple - http://www.vaishnodevitempleoakville.com/ There are many more. Ofcourse Haran Aiya's temple in Rochester, New York is very, very powerful. The homa on Saturdays is not to be missed. , " Devi Bhakta " <devi_bhakta wrote: > > A member contacted me earlier today and asked whether I knew of any > powerful Devi temples in the Toronto area ... > > I recommended the unique and wonderful Sri Rajarajeshwari Peetham in > Rush, N.Y., which is about a 3-hour drive from Toronto: > > http://tinyurl.com/39yyaw > > But I do not know Toronto itself that well; I've only been there a few > times. Guest guest
The Hindu Temple in Richmond Hill http://www.thehindutemple.ca/ is like five temples in one. The Devis here - Parvati, Durga, Mahalakshmi and Andal (wives of Lord Vishnu), Valli and Devasana (wives of Lord Muruga) are extremely powerful, so much so they are credited with having protected the second generation of Hindus growing up at this temple from the wild west ways. These kids have been featured in the latest edition of Hinduism Today pages 53-55 Take a look at: http://www.thehindutemple.ca/HT- Pg53-55.pdf Or the magazine itself at www.hinduismtoday.com , " Devi Bhakta " <devi_bhakta wrote: > > A member contacted me earlier today and asked whether I knew of any > powerful Devi temples in the Toronto area ...
