So the Name of the Meritorious is namaHshivAya. Notes: 1. The great mantra namaHshivAya is uttered by the holiest saints and they are longing to chant that forever. Still it is not something that can be taken away from anybody for the reason of somebody being a sinner and dirty. This great mantra of the Lord cleanses them as well and they would move away from the bad things by the virtue of chanting this mantra. God is not so cruel and unforgiving to make the sinners eternally burn in hell. The natural quality of the soul is being flawful - affiliated with filth. God provides ways for the soul to cleanse clanse and as it moves forward in the process it would enjoy the Bliss better and better. This mantra is to do that cleansing. This mantra never gets impure to see the qualification of one who should chant and who should not. This namaHshivAya mantra is for everybody - both saints and sinners - for people of all walks of life without any kind of differentiation to chant. This is insisted by cambandhar in the following songs of the padhikam as well. This being his ultimate padhikam, cambandhar asserts, seeing its benefit right in front of him coming as shiva jyothi, that just holding tight on this great mantra will uplift one. 2. The word n^IN^guvar needs to be contemplated. It is not just removal of the already committed sins by chanting the mantra and getting away. This mantra continuously cleanses the soul so that the individual moves away from sinful deeds.
