Guest guest
Normally practice of Shanmukhi mudra resolves problems that arise by perception- serpent power by Avalon has instructions of this, you might be able to find in Gheranda samhita or some other equally valid hatha yoga samhita as well. Sometimes hansa pranayama with mulabandha and jalandhara bandha can completely clear the mind of any problems such as this, but it only comes with years of practice, and a lifestyle that is oriented towards accommodating the philosophy of hatha as one's first and principle priority. Some claim that the recitation of Gayatri as an initial purushcharana helps... this is hearsay on my part. You could also always try to take a cold shower and use some kind of moisturiser because hot showers can irritate sensitive skin and if it isnt too awkward u could mask the sound with those industrial headphone things that people use when dealing with heavy machinery. I've tried one of those, deafening silence. So I guess its either a matter of you choosing to control your perception inwardly or externally block its interaction from stimuli. If all else fails, lots of alcohol might just do the trick random_cerebral <random_cerebral Tuesday, 20 March, 2007 8:32:49 PM disturbances How do I avoid getting 'disturbed' (by odd noises and urge to itch at odd places) during devi pooja? Guest guest
Actually his problem is not uncommon. I see this as the ego struggling to get our attention. As you become aware of ego's fight against its own annihilation, you will see this for what it is. Just focus your mind on the mantra and ignore the other things going on. It will begin to bother you less and less. Guest guest
Now after my other previous recommendation I suppose people would be right to not take me seriously, but here it is, the answer you have been waiting for. Try an antihistamine like pseudoephedrine. They are not all the same, and pseudo I have experienced many times during meditations and I have found that it does not make one hyper or sleepy like some antihistamines but rather it makes me feel really calm and placid. As for the itches, it should also help that. Give it a shot? It's legal and cheap. On Behalf Of Shankari Kali Tuesday, March 20, 2007 12:02 PM Re: disturbances Actually his problem is not uncommon.
