Guest guest Posted March 23, 2007 Report Share Posted March 23, 2007 Unlike the Saptamatrka cult and such various manifestations of the mother goddess, the Yoginis and their temples have been neglected in India, due to the limited research undertaken in the field ofTantric studies, art history and historical archaeology.There are major temples of Yoginis in Orissa and Central India.The Brahmanda, Agni and Skanda Puranas contain large scale references on Yoginis.Kalhanas Rajatarangini and Somadevas Kathasaritsagara belonging to early tenth century AD, contain tales on Yoginis. Further there are a large number of manuscripts on Tantras where U can collect information on Yogini cult.
