kiranteemangeybhyah kirana nikurumbaamrutarasam

hruditvaamaadhattey himakara silamurthy mivayah

sa sarpaanaam darpam samayati sakuntaadhipa iva

jvara plusthaan drusthvaa sukhayati sudhaadhara siraya

 

Radiance(emanating from each and every) part of (this composite body of yours)

(it is these)Rays (which) concentrate, (oh) Mother! (and produce the ) Immortal

Elixir

 

(those who in their) Hearts Install (and worship you with) Moon Stone Image

Like( with such opalescence)

 

Powerful Snakes' arrogance (they can) Curb, Eagle King Like

 

(and the sick whose)Fever(is) Raging (when) looked at ( by them are)

comforted (by the ) Nectar Flow Streaming (from their eyes)

 

While other verses deal with the gift of poetic Imagination and power to

attract women this verse is about the power of healing. The elixir which

prevents death and ageing is nothing but a condensation of the radiance

emanating from the Mother. A devotee who meditates on her form by fixing and

worshipping her (in a samadhi state) and sees the opalescence of Moon Stone

will acquire powers. He can subdue a fierce King Cobra like the eagle does. He

can heal the sick just by looking at them because he has imbibed the nectar

resulting from her radiance

For a mendicant these powers are of practical importance.Healing power and

protection against snake bite are expected of him. When he visits a village

people go to him because it is believed that such mendicants have healing

powers.

 

Yantra is 2 intersecting identical squares forming 8 equilateral triangles

with apexes pointing in the 8 directions N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW, N and an

Octagon.

 

Bijaksharms are Ohm, Kshipa, Swahaa arranged as a column in the octagon.

 

Expected result of Upasana is relief from effects of poisoning, snake bite and
