Guest guest
Thanks for your welcome and advice, G. And okay [re: Sri Yantra talisman], thank you, Llundrub. Another question: Some people seem to emphasize facing the east when doing worship. Some folks say facing the north is also good. Can facing north be done with most spiritualities in Goddess worship, or just specific ones? Guest guest
Generally, facing east or north is good. If praying is done in the morning, which better direction to face than the rising Sun? Both Sun and Moon are HER eyes. , " ganesa16 " <ganesa16 wrote: > > Thanks for your welcome and advice, G. Guest guest
True. North is probably the ideal direction at night, particulary at or near midnight. I think this is true because the transiting sun is in the fourth house in the natural zodiac, at this time. The fourth house is in the northern part of the chart. Of course the North Star is probably a good focal point at this time, too. Blessings, Stephen , " ganpra " <ganpra wrote: > > Generally, facing east or north is good. Guest guest
Some people don't get into direction specificity. Guest guest
That is because, once anyone starts with Sri Chakra (or Maha Meru) puja (meaning that stage of Devi worship), the convention is, the upasaka must sit facing the yantra/meru. Wherever the yantra/meru is, it is the East. Just as in a temple, one can prostrate/pray/do japa from any direction as long as it is done facing towards the deity. At that stage Devi is also internalized (may be the learned can expand on this one if they wish to or correct me if I'm wrong), hence no direction matters, even performing a japa w/o sri yantra. , " ganesa16 " <ganesa16 wrote: > > Some people don't get into direction specificity. > Stephen > , sankara menon <kochu1tz@> > wrote: > > > > for srividya upasakas any direction is the right direction. Guest guest
Yes, but don't many temples have the deity/murti face a certain direction? So, direction specificity does make a direction to many other people. Guest guest
Alright, I was bored with this so didn't bother but here it is, Am - East, PM - North. That's it, unless you're aghora then south, or if you have a specific feng shui for a certain outcome. Vastu treats everything the same way, but feng shui depends upon your element. Of course if you're in a nakshatra garden then you face the direction of the nakshatra to get the shade and sun or moon at the right time. Did I forget anything? Not sure.
