Vishnu Sahasranaamam may lead us in the right path, it per se may not

bring any spiritual advancement.

What do we understand here by spiritual advancement?

I think that for those of us who are only looking for guidance and blessings

from the " Mother " and not interested in attaining any special siddhis, just

leading us in the " right path " is more than enough.

As Humans we are pattern seeking. Patterns that are embeded in our

culture and tradition that we grow up with. Once you try to change

this pattern, there will be resistence and even if there's a change,

we continue to create patterns. So we go through life always being

driven from pattern to pattern into which we have settled down so

comfortably : Our Comfort Zone, Our thoughts and our behavior. And

indeed its difficult to shake away this comfort zone we create for

ourselves.
