I hope some one will answer this. We know Tara as wife of Guru teacher of the

Gods. But Tara also means beloved. I have heard of worship Tara as Bhagawati may

be in Himachal Pradesh.

I am putting you on my growing list and we will have tantric already doing

for you just based alone on your aspiration to see Maa Tara. We will now

have to have him spend a week there. If you want to seva then you'll know

who to send it to - Paypal indusland For old folks home in

Calcutta. I'll pay the rest, same for everyone else. The first shall last

longest with some tara behind them. If you have ears, or nerves to listen

then hear! I know who you are Venkat. Now Maa Tara does too.

There are no amanya krama of Tara from the strict definition. However, there is

certain krama diksha one can take in Tara within Baudha systems as well as some

(pretty much non-existent) Hindu systems.

Texts on mahachina diksha krama will give you an idea of the requirements and

sadhana patterns for Sri Neela Saraswati who is a saumya form of Tara and is the

sangama of Sri Vidya mantras and orthodox Purva Kaula mantras.

In India it is common to see the worship of Tara as Ugra Tara and to a lesser

extent that of EkajataH tara. If you revisit tantras which correspond each maha

vidya to dasha avataras then you might consider doing sadhana to the respective

avatar of Vishnu.

Todala also mentions male counterpart for Tara who you can worship and in some

diksha krama tArakeshwara or akshobhaya are indeed worshipped and invoked prior

to going into the last mantra of Tara.

Its logical to start off with Kali as no Tara diksha is complete without first

having diksha in the chintamani kali bija, from this you go into the

panchAkshari mantra of Tara and finally from here there are a significant

variations in krama pattern within different schools.

Thanks for the information. I found a reference to Tata Vidya under " Sri Vidya

Rashmi Malakhyam. This has 9 parts. The 2nd part is called Parikara Panchakam

which gives a) Chakshushmati Vidya b) Gandharva Vidya c)Padishadrudra Vidya d)

TARA VIDYA e) Nama Traya Vidya. All these Slokas seem to be for mystique

powers. The Mantra for Gandharva Vidya is " mamabhilashitam kanyam prayachha

.... " . Obviously this is for attracting women. The Tara Vidya Sloka is

naukaasimhaasanaaroodham saakyadarshana devataam

jalaapachhamaneem vande taram vaaridamecakam

What does Saakya Darshana mean? Does it refer to Buddhism ?

It means that for those who are of the Shakya Gotram they are the inheritors

of Taradevi's motives and they become the Lioness protecting Her cubs.
