Greetings,

I was not able to access the info on " how to draw the SriChakra " (no power

point)

However, I have been collecting information on the subject for a long time.

Some of the best sites I have found are below. The numerous links they provide

should offer much information on history and construction methods.

http://www.sonic.net/~galen/SY/SY.htm

http://www.sriyantraresearch.com/

http://www.selfreferral.com/sriyantra/References/PatFlanagan.pdf

http://ccat.sas.upenn.edu/george/

There is a wonder-full sense of connection to a Sri Yantra one has created

personally. It is truly (in my experience) an offering to the Great Mother no

matter what one's artistic or drafting skills. My earliest attempt (39 years

ago) is in a frame next to my gold plated copper (flat) and crystal meru (3d)

versions on my meditation altar. The latter two are beautiful pieces of art and

energized by numerous pranapratishta and years of devotional work with them, but

they are not the work of my own hands, heart and mind.

I drew it in high school, not really knowing it's purpose, by measuring the

lines and angles from a 3 inch drawing in a book on comparative religion. The

simultaneous geometry class learning was helpful. I did not understand why it

called me for almost ten years, even after a lot of yoga practice and study of

Hindu thought.

SHE was calling to my heart's yearning even then.

For appropriate materials to use and mantrams see:

http://www.shivashakti.com/yantra.htm

These last two links are interesting computer annimations of the Sri Yantra

moving in three dimensions.

With appreciations to Venkat Bhaskr, NMadaswamy and Shri Harsha for

clarifications on the Nityas. Thank you all.

The structure of Sri Chakra and its symmetery can be appreciated fully only by

drawing it. One should try even if all you have is a school Geometry box.
