Guest guest
In the source I am using, the following verse is 24. But in some texts this is 25 and 24 is a verse " jagatsootey dhaataaa ..... " . But I am omitting this verse for consistency since I do not have yantra, upasana vidhi and phalitam for this verse. trayaanaam deyvaanaam trigunajanitaanaam tava sivey bhaveytpuja puja tava carana yoryaa viracitaa tadaahi tvadpadodahana manipeethasya nikatey sthitaa hyete sasvanmukulita karottamasa makutaah Trinity Of Gods (representing) The Three (fundamental) Qualities Generating From You (oh) Consort of Shiva ! (they are) Created (from these qualities, when) Worshipped, (this) Worship(is worship of) Your Feet (which are) Ornamented (by these gods) (it is so) Then, Because (these gods are at) Your Feet (which rest on) Burning ( with brilliant light and) Gemstone Studded Altar, (they are) At That (altar) Steadfast (in their faith and) Eternally (with) Folded Hands Holding Their Crowns (in obeisance) In verse 2 it was described that the Trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh do creation, sustenance and destruction of the worlds at The Mother's wish and it is their method of worshipping her. This verse is about the qualities they represent. She is the primary source of three Gunas (qualities), Satva, Rajas and Tamas And out of these Gunas are born Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh. These are considered supreme gods and are worshipped by people. But by worshipping Mother's feet the devotee of any of these gods is also worshipping these gods. Because, they are eternally present at her feet with hands folded and bowing. When they bow, their ornamented crowns adorn her feet which rest on a brilliant Altar studded with gems. Besides emphasising her power Adi Sankara also introduces in this verse the three Gunas. These appear several times in later verses. The five elements along with the three Gunas are the basic components. The Brahmanda or the Universe can be described in terms of the combinations of these components in different proportions. This is the basics of Sankhya. While accepting this, Adi Sankara integrates it with devotion to Devi. Similar verses are also found in other sources like Devi Bhagavatam, where the three Gunas are described as only aspects of her totality. Yantra is down ward pointing triangle with tridents at each of the three corners. Bijaksharam is Soum in centre of triangle. Expected result of upasana is an exalted status in life and fame.
