Ear Rings (which have the) Power (to give immortality to you Husband) This is a repetition of verse 25/26 where the temporary nature of all other Gods is shown. At end of the cycle when a catastrophic destruction takes place, every thing passes away. The Gods fought and obtained the heavenly nectar. Even this nectar is not enough when the cycle ends. Brahma who writes the destiny of every one is powerless and cannot escape his own extinction. The powerful Indras and other Gods pass away. These have taken Nectar. There is Sambhu, the husband of Devi who holds the most dreadful poison in his throat , but is unharmed. When the ocean was churned, to obtain the nectar, first came a terrible poison with power to destroy the worlds. This was to be controlled to save the worlds.Sambhu keeps the poison in his throat which results in a scar on his throat but he is unharmed. Sambhu acquires this immortality by being the Devi's husband. Her magnificent ear rings are a symbol of her chastity and devotion to her husband. It is the power of the various symbols of married woman totally devoted to her husband which ensures immortality to the husband. This is a tribute not only to Devi's powers but to the tradition of Sumangali which all Hindu women follow. Yantra is a square with all edges ending in tridents at both ends. Bijaksharams are Tham, Tham, Tham arranged in a column in the square. Th is pronounced as th in Ant-hill. Expected result of Upasana is protection against untimely death. There is a view that reason for premature death or death by accidents is " Tatra Tatra Pariveshita Rakshasa Stavarah ' Meaning localised presence or influence of evil forces. These evil forces decrease the alertness of mind and consequently the person falls prey. The powerful Yantra here with 8 tridents and the power of Bijaksharam Tham will drive out these localised evil forces protecting the Devotee
