What is there to wonder at, if the Fire of the great Deluge should perform the ritual of offering lights before whosoever conceives Thee always as 'I am [Thou]', treating the wealth of Tri-nayana as mere straw? Eternal - that has neither beginning, nor end. Rays emanating from thine own frame, ie the Sri cakra of nine parts, in the form of Avarana-devatA-s as detailed below : The three quadrangles of the BhUgrha, where in abide the eight Siddhi-s - AnimA, LaghimA, MahimA, Vasitva, Isatva, PrAkAmya, PrApti and Sarva- kAma-pradAyinI, in the first quadrangle, the eight MAtr-s -BrahmI, MAhesvarI, KaumAri, VaisnavI, VArAhI, MAhendrI, CAmundA and MahAlaksmi, in the second Quadrangle; the ten MudrA-s - Sarva- samksobhinI, Sarva-vidrAvinI, SarvAkarsini, Sarva-vasamkari, SarvonmAdini, Sarva-mahAnkusa Sarva-khecarI, Sarva-bijA, Sarva-yoni and Sarva-trikhandA, in the third quadrangle; the sixteen DevatA-s [ KAmAkarsini, BuddhyAkarsinI, AhamkArAkarsinI, SabdAkarsinI, SparsAkarsinI, RUpAkarsinI, RasAkarsini, GhandhAkarsinI, CittA- karsinI, DhairyAkarsinI, SmrtyAkarsinI, NAmAkarsinI, BijAkarsinI, AtmAkarsinI, AmrtAkarsini, and SarIrAkarsinI, in the sixteen- petalled lotus; the eight DevatA-s - Ananga-kusumA, Ananga-mekhalA, Ananga-madanA, Ananga-mandanAturA, Ananga-rekhA, Ananga-veginI, AnangAnkusA and Ananga-mAlinI, in the eight-petalled lotus; the fourteen DevatA-s - Sarva-samksobhinI, Sarva-vidrAvinI, SarvAkarsinI, SarvAhlAdinI, Sarva-sammohanI, Sarva-stambhinI, Sarva- jrmbjinI, Sarva-vasamkarI, Sarva-ranjanI, SarvonmAdinI, SarvArtha- sAdhanI, Sarva-sampattipUranI, Sarva-mantramayI and Sarva-dvandya- ksayamkarI, in the CaturdasAra; the ten DevatA-s - Sarva-siddhpradA, Sarva-sampatpradA, Sarva-priyamkarI, Sarva-mangalakArinI, Sarva- kAmapradA, Sarva-saubhAgyadAyinI, Sarva-mrtyu-prasamanI, Sarva- vighna-nivArinI, SarvAnga-sundarI and SarvaduhkhavimocanI, in the Bahir-dasAra; the ten DevatA-s - SarvajNA, Sarva-sakti, SarvaisvaryapradA, Sarva-jNAnamayI, Sarva-vyAdhi-vinAsanI, SarvAdhAra-svarUpA, SarvapApaharA, SarvAnandamayI, Sarva-raksA- svarUpinI and Sarvepsita-phalapradA, in the Antar-dasAra; the eight DevatA-s - VasinI, KAmesI, ModinI, VimalA, ArunA, JayanI, SarvesI and KaulinI, in the Asta-kona; the three DevatA-s - KamesvarI, vajresI and BhagamAlA, in the Tri-kona; and the Tripurasundari in the middle. 'Frame' is also taken by some to indicate the feet, the MayUkha-s sent out which have been dealt with in the fourteenth stanza. This stanza represents the Yogin, who has attained oneness with the Devi, as looking upon the untold wealth of SadAsiva as a mere trifle, there being nothing else worthy of acquisition. The Ocean of Beauty - Saundarya-Lahari of SrI Samkara-Bhagavatpada Pandit S. Subrahmanya Sastri T.R Srinivasa Ayyangar.
