Guest guest
Hi Harsha: I am glad you like the painting. The original it's scanned from hangs on the wall of my study, just above my PC. ;-) She is a mysterious deity! In fact, I purchased the painting because - - like you -- I found it striking; not because I was familiar with the Devi. I liked Her a lot, but had never heard of Her myself. According to the artist, this is a true copy of a much older painting, identified only as " Sarvambikesha, " which (as you know) translates to something like " The Complete Mother Aspect of God. " The artist extrapolated (from what source if any, I do not know) that this nama further " identifies Her as the Complete Deity from whom both Feminine and Masculine forms of divinity arise. " I've had the painting for five or more years now, and have -- on several occasions -- asked sadhakas much wiser and more experienced than myself if they could tell me any more about Her. None had any knowledge of Her, but as one added, " that means nothing; there are more Devis than any one person can learn of in many lifetimes. But I think She is good, and I know She is good for you. So enjoy and honor Her. " So I do. ;-) Sorry I could not be more specific, but I hope that's a start. I certainly invite anyone who knows anything additional to share their knowledge. I'd love to know more. DB , Harsha wrote: > > Nora, > > Yes, the new site is beautiful indeed. Guest guest
Dear Devi Bhakta, Thank you for your detailed explanation about the painting. The Goddess Supreme is mysterious indeed and assumes any form that She wishes in the visions bestowed. My feeling is that when the devotee is pure and innocent, the forms of Devi are benevolent and radiate kindness and blessings. She knows best. Namaste and love to all Harsha Devi Bhakta wrote: > Hi Harsha: > > I am glad you like the painting. Guest guest
Namaste Harsha: Beautifully spoken; I cannot add anything to your words. Thank you for both your query and your response to my attempt at a reply ... DB , Harsha wrote: > > Dear Devi Bhakta, > > Thank you for your detailed explanation about the painting.
