I would probably spend about 45 days there, so if anyone has been there, then I am interested in the practicalities. I understand that Kamakhya is fairly close to Guwahati, but are there places near Kamakhya proper for one to rest and get food? Is there a shamshana close to the temple? I have spent a lot of time in West Bengal, but have not been to Assam. More broadly, what are some of your favorite power places? I have been to most of the famous ones in India, but sometimes there are great places that are not as well known. If pressed, I would have to say that the most powerful place that I have been is Arunachala in the south.
