Guest guest
Namaste Group: Now that you mention it, how does one fire a goddess? The girl may symbolically represent Ma Kali, or she like the rest of the women in this world may have an aspect of Ma. It seems to me another nasty aspect of misogyny. They need to keep the woman on a leash. They forget that you can't leash up Ma. Ma Kali is completely free from the fetters of society. I believe that is part of the symbolism in her murtis. Can we write letters of protest to these individuals who " fired " her? Jai Maa! Shankari Kali
Guest guest
What good would that do? Seriously...you could write leters -- you could even engange in violence. but how would that enlighten folks, how would that really " open minds " ? people who hold the view that a representative, a proxy of the Goddess, the Feminine Divinity, can be simply railroaded by proxy -- is writing a leter going to do anything but inform them that they should be more subtle and sneaky in forcing their opinions on the world? Of COURSE you can write letters of protest. But often when people in bureaucratic opinions get letters of protest of their *policy --* they laugh coldly and redouble their efforts. It's the power they are addicted to -- the power to create what political journalist-slash-novelist Hunter S. Thompson quoted Kierkegaarde by invoking by way of demonstration -- the power of *fear and loathing.* ** Writing letters can be " a first step " but it will take more than letters to get them to change their ways. They have generations of unopposed imposition of their attitudes to make them think they are utterly, innocently correct in treating female humanity thus... Guest guest
If you were to try to fire Kali Ma, she'd probably laugh Her ass off... and when the universe finally settles back down and finishes trembling... well, one might get the picture. If human beings can appoint someone to be a symbolic representation of Ma, they no doubt can also fire her. However, if her intrinsic nature as none other than Ma (as we all are) has truly awakened, She may just waltz right across their preconceived notions, boundaries and " traditions. " And in the process reveal what her " handlers " (as it were) have really been up to all along. Or, as a bumper sticker I saw years ago put it, " the Lord is coming, and is She pissed! " LOL - Shankari Kali Wednesday, July 04, 2007 11:01 AM How Does One " Fire " a Goddess? Namaste Group: Now that you mention it, how does one fire a goddess?
