ThirumuRai Series - 1074 -help with aiyARudaiya aDikaLO pls.

OM NAMAH SIVAYA

 

i came across the phrase aiyARudaiya aDikaLO recently and i know it

has something to do with cundharar. can anyone help to understand how

this translates into english and its relevance to cundharar? any

assistance would be most appreciated. thanks in advance for your time.

It is in the 7th thirumurai. A song attributed to Sundarar.

The last verse is as follows (I had seperated the conjoined words for

a better understanding of Old Tamil):

 

Adum thirai kAviri kOttathu

aiyARu udaiya adigaLO

 

Adum: Dancing

thirai: screen or waves (in this context, water lapping the banks of

river kAveri)

kAviri: River kAveri

kOttathu: at kAveri kOttam (a place)

aiyARu: thiruvaiyAru (thiru + aiyARu) (a place)

udaiya: in (thiruvaiyARu)

adigaLO: Feet
