Can I draw it myself ?What is the offering ?The book I have mentions sugar,jaggery and coconut.A previous post mentions Rice and Ghee.Please guide me ..I have no initiation by a Guru but I worship the devi everyday with lalitha saharanamam. I dont know whether for Soundarya Lahari in particular, initiation is a prerequisite and mandatory. There is a view that it is essentially one of the greatest devotional poetic and musical works for all time. So, meant to be recited by those who want to express their devotion to the Supreme power which is the Mother. It my humble opinion that Recitation is primary and the engineering designs like yantra and specifications and procedures are secondary. I am translating from a telugu source authored by a respected Devi Upasaka, giving an alternate procedure for Yantra which is simple Chose a private, clean and pure place in the East direction. With rice powder make a small pedstal of the size of a Peetham. Sadhka should draw the Yanta on this pedstal himself using middle finger of right hand. The sloka shiuld be recited 1000 times with bijaksharam Kleem for 12 days. Naivedyam as per this source is Bananas, Coconut and Jaygery. A mixture of cut Bananas. Coconut pieces and Jaugery can also be used. The result of Upasana of this 1st sloka is said to be SIddha Pravacanam. Our moral and spiritual support is with you. Recite the Sloka and then Ohm followed by Bijaksharam Kleem, all, gently spaced. Though worship or sadhana is a direct communication between Individual and Divine, Satsang too is very important.
