Guest guest
Hello; I joined this great group just a year ago after being a long-term Japanese Buddhist & 2 year Japanese tantric practitioner. It has taken me a year to read some books on Sri Vidya, absorb & now ready & happy to move foward. I'll be starting with the Khadgamala stotram. But I also want to pray to Devi, to call on the Divine Mother with a devotional heart. I'd appreciate help from the group as 'Devi', to me seems rather generic, whilst 'Ma', makes me think of an exclusively male god as my own wonderful Mother, insists god is male:) So would you please help this beginning Shakta with a suitable name to call on Devi? many thanks Cory

I am not sure about this Japanese Tantrik, but if you're talking about sri vidya tradition esp in Tantrik path, u need a guru. Book may be the starting point but you NEED A GURU. Dont you agree Sricakra9?
Guest guest
Dear SriCakra; thank you very much. NMadasamy, yes it is exactly the same,to get initiated you must have a guru, in Japanese a sensei, who then gives you mantras and sadhanas and initiates you into mandala visualizations etc. And you can perform austerities. I was very devoted to Kwan Yin, the well-known Buddhist bodhisattva & now understand this is Devi, playing with me & drawing me to Her. When I had this strong devotion to Kwan Yin, I found a sensei, so now it seems to me if I do japa and have great devotion to Devi,as well as learn Khadgamala Stotram I will find my guru without a doubt. Is this not correct? Would you please help me with the form for proper japa for chanting Lalita or Rajarajeswari's name? I am used to chanting mantras in Sanskrit so I have no problem. Though I am sure I have to work a lot on good pronunciation. Thank you everyone for helping me Cory Lalitha Or Rajarajeswari will be the apt one
