> This verse is about the spiritual experience in Anaahata Cakra

whose element is Vayu (Air), Adhidevata is Paraneswara and Loka is

Japoloka. Spiritual enjoyment is akin to the joy one gets by imbibing

honey from a fully blown lotus. The divine couple are in this Cakra as

a pair of Royal Swans sporting in the minds of great sages. The minds

of these sages are pure like the waters of Manassorovar lake in the

Himalayas. Therefore these are the sporting places of the Divine

couple Parameswara and Parameswari like Manassorovar for the Royal

Swans. As said in earlier verses the entire universe is a result of

sporting of Shiva-Shakti. The sounds from their casual talk with each

other give rise to the Eighteen Vidyas. These are --

> 1.Siksha 2.Kalpam 3.Vyakaranam 4.Niruktam 5.Jyotisham 6.Chandas

7.Rigvedam 8.Yajurvedam 9.Samavedam 10.Adharvanavedam 11.Meemaamsa

12.Nyaya Sastram 13.Dharma Sastram 14.Puraanam 15.Aayurvedam

16.Dhanurvedam 17.Gandharva Vedam 18.Ardha Sastram

> It is believed that Swans have the ability to separate Milk from

Water. In a poetic analogy this is compared to the power of the Divine

couple to distinguish and rescue Good from Evil which also a pefect

mixture. It is onlym power gifted by them to the devotee that enables

him to distinguish and select the good The analogy is an example of

the range and power of Adi Sankara's unsurpassed poetic gifts.
