Fantastic, I just got my copy of Chandi Path in the mail (thank you Srini!). I have started to read it section by section, so I will take a sankalpa to continue that each day until I am done with it. (Which will last longer than the Navaratri, because I am slow) But at least I will be reading Chandi during this Navaratri.

Jai Shree Maa and Swamiji!

Jai Kali Ma, Om Namah Shivaya!

Dear All,Swamiji says pick any 9 days and make it a Navaratri. But especially efficacious is to make Navaratri of Pratipad to Navami (1st to 9th day of Lunar fortnight) or Saptami to Pournami/Amavasya (7th day to Full New Moon/New Moon). And then take a sankalpa.Today is Saptami.I took a sankalpa to daily chant Chandi, do 3 malas of japa, and a short puja (I think 1/2 hour) from Cosmic Puja book for the next 9 days. Thanks for prayers.Jai Maa!srini

Namaste!

According to the Devi Mandir facebook status, Navaratri starts June 23rd. I was wondering how people celebrate and worship at home for Navaratri and what sort of significance those days hold.

Dear ManyaThank you for your question. We have compiled a FAQ on Navaratri here - http://www.shreemaa.org/drupal/taxonomy_menu/74/173/193

Please take a look and post if you have more questions.

Namaste All!

Thank you Usha for the suggestion! I share your view.

I too would like to join everyone in the Sankalpa for Navaratri.

Since many members of the Devi Mandir family are keen to participate in the

celebrations together as a group, we look to Maa and Swamiji for guidance.

May I request Nanda and Ramya to please ask Maa and Swamiji to guide us as to

what Sankalpa we should make for the 9 days of Navratra?

Love to All.

May Maa bless you Manjusri and Iran this Navaratri. I take for granted that I can watch Swami, Maa and Devi Mandir anytime I want to. I forget that there are other devotees in places that are full of turmoil and strife where their access might be limited. I am sure all the Devi Mandir prays for you and all the people in your country.

Jai Maa! Jai Swamiji!

Dear Vish, Usha, Ramya, Linda, Kumari .... and all dear family,I can feel the Navaratri spirit across all the miles here in Iran!!! In spite of all the prevailing problems. Linda is back, Vish's descriptions of the Puja in the Devi Mandir, Maa's blessings, Swamiji's new classes, the event on 27th June...all bring good tidings.I am struggling with the Chandi Path, trying to use all my means to do one complete path in a day. Without success so far. But I tell myself that at least I'm trying. Will try harder.Internet connections have been extensively filtered and I have no access to the webcam either. Seems like the dark forces have won for the time being....and I can only pray that Chandi will arrive to help us win this battle.Lots of Love to everyoneJai Maa! Please remember its better to take an honest sankalpa and complete it than to take too big of a lunch and get a belly ache. this one rule has helped me tremenedously! part of sadhana is getting to know myself and my situations and circumstances and from there knowing what is feasable and what i am am capable of. and every day this changes and grows. this is the first navaratri i am able to sit and complete the chandi in one sitting where i know i wont be very drained and frusturated. every other time i did what was feasable where i wouldnt create an inner struggle for myself about completing a task that is inconcievable. surely that is one of the asuras in the chandi. ma loves one mantra just as much as she loves the complete chandi, or 3 mantras, or 14 mantras. i believe as swamiji and the chandi both say, that as long as we are doing with sincere devotion then she accepts our offering. it is THAT we are doing, not how and what we are doing which is of true importance.

god bless us, the devi mandir family, for trying our best.

Namaste to all of you.

Thank You so very much for sharing your experience and thoughts with us! You are

quite right. But like the businessman and King in the Chandi Path, although I

know what's right, I feel I must finish 9 Chandis during the Navratra!! Your

comparison with the asuras is so apt!

Om Aim Hrim Klim Chamundai Vicche!!!! May I get the sandwich right!!!!

I agree with Gauri -- beautifully stated. And I agree that our sincere devotion

is key. Krishna tells us that if we say His name, only once, with pure devotion,

He will come.

But I admit, I find I have times when I sit down to my sankalpa, chanting,

meditating, whatever, and my mind is not in the right place. It is only

concerned with doing what needs to be done.

I wonder if others in the group would be willing to share their experiences with

this, and what to do to settle the mind into the 'right' mindset.

Jai Maa!!

Hello Everyone!

I have been on this list for some time but have not posted yet, because I have

felt a little intimidated. Many people here know so much more than I do about

worshipping Divine Mother. However, even with my limited knowledge, I have

found so much success in my sadhana, due to the grace of my guru Ammachi--Mata

Amritanandamayi Devi. I have been with Her for 15 years and am amazed at how my

inner and outer worlds have completed transformed during this time. I am

incredibly grateful every day for the peace and joy that permeate my being and

for all the rich blessings in my life.

For Navaratri, I will have four pujas for our satsang. We celebrate Durga on

the first three nights, then Laxshmi for three nights, then Saraswati. For

Vijayadashami, we will go down to a river near my house and chant Lalita

Sahasranama. Each night of worship includes the 108 Names of that form of the

Goddess, offerings of flowers, food, fruit and flame, chanting of Mahisasura

Mardini, and aarti to Ammachi. For Laxshmi's night, we will chant the Sri

Suktam. Very few of us are Hindus by birth, but we are Mother's children and

worship Her in the only way we know. By our Guru's grace, it is complete.

I wish all of you the blessings of Divine Mother this Navaratri and always. If

any of you are near us in Charleston, South Carolina, please feel free to stop

by. In Her, Mira

nice post.worshipping divine mother in any form is salvation itself,

bcoz she is herself salvation giver and salvation itself.

ie she is mokshadatri and moksharupa.
