Guest guest
If you don't want to learn the rituals and you don't want to spend the time in sadhana, then Tantra isn't the path for you. No short cuts. Sorry. If you are drawn to the Divine Mother, then perhaps the path of the bhakta would be more appropriate. There are a lot of Tantric elements in simple puja, and there are saints who have been liberated out of pure devotion. But again, it requires dedication. Realization requires effort, in any path. It is always best to start where you are, begin with what interests you, and use your strengths. Guest guest
There is no difference between Sri Vidya and Brahma Vidya. The ultimate aim is to get liberated. Sri Vidya IS the short cut, as compared to Brahma Vidya. For following the latter, one has to master Advaita literature which is very vast. One has to study at least 11 principal upanishads, Bhagawat Gita, Brahma Sutram with their respective commentaries and ever so many prakarana granthas including Atma Bodha, Viveka chudamani etc., and preferably read Ashtavakra Gita, Yoga Vasishtham and Yoga sutras. Besides this, one has to be an understudy with one of the advaitic masters for several years and spend several long years in sravanam, mananam, dhyaanam and nididhyaasanam. It also has some element of ritualistic pujas. After all this, one is not assured of enlightenment because it depends on grace of God. Compared to all this, Sri Vidya is very simple in that Devi is avyaaja-karunaamurtih and agnana-dhwaanta-deepikaa. Thus Sri Vidya IS the shortcut especially in this Kali Yuga. Guest guest
I don't think these are the only two alternatives for moksha. Did Mirabai master the upanisads? Did Akka Mahadevi master the sutras? Did Lalla expound on yoga sutras? No. They didn't even learn Sanskrit. And yet, they were all saints, all women, and all composed their own songs in their own languages with such pure devotion that it is considered sacred literature today. One needs only to cling to Maa fiercely and sincerely to be Her bhakta. The way forward from there will be different for everyone, depending on their ability and willingness to learn, and depending on their nature. However, the context of the question was, how could one become advanced in Sri Vidya without doing much of anything by way of effort, study or practice. Mastering Sri Vidya takes a lot of time and effort and practice. Perhaps there are varying views on this, depending on your sampradaya. There's room for different ideas. jai MA -kulasundari On Wed, Jan 27, 2010 at 9:10 PM, Radhakrishnan J <jayaarshreewrote: > > > There is no difference between Sri Vidya and Brahma Vidya.
