Panchadasi has three kutas. The first has 5 letters, the second, 6 and the

thrid, 4 making thus 15 letters. Excluding the hrillekha from the three kutas,

we will be left with 4 in the first, 5 in the second and 3 in the last.

3, 4, 5 describes the lowest unit values for a right angled triangle. 3square +

4square = 5square.

Draw a line from the point between the eyebrows to the point between the ears.

This forms the base. Draw a perpendicular from the point between the ears to the

crown. Now join the crown and the point between the eyebrows. We get the

hypotenuse.

This was told long back by Sri Chandrasekharendra saraswati Mahaswamigal of

Kanchi.

Using katapaya-aadi sankhyaa, hrim yields 15. 8 for hakaara, 2 for repha and 5

for 'm'.
