Guest guest
namaste Jai Maa I have been doing the Universal Peace Sankalpa mantra daily with great attentiveness. When I begin, it flows and goes by itself. Other times of the day, though, it does not seem to come at all by itself. Like most of us, my days are very full so I do not think of it consciously either. I am wondering how others are experiencing the mantra and what effects you experience from it? I look forward you your feedback. love vishweshwar Jai Maa Jai Swami
Guest guest
Hi Vish, It's hard for me to really say very much specifically about the effects of this mantra, except that its shakti is very strong and/or accessible. I have a couple of major blockages in my spine, at anahata and vishuddha, so a really major part of my experience when I practice is the experience of these blockages - the frustrating and sometimes painful pressure, and the releases (blissful). I have noticed lately that there seems to be a lot more work going on at anahata, which is a real positive, I think. Even though a concentration of the shakti at anahata means the practice is harder (drier, more frustrating, and more painful at first), it also means, if I reach a certain point, the heart energies and the head energies seem to merge and create a deeper and more robust experience (it's really hard to try to describe these things!). There are also times when I seem to sense Mother's presence in my mind, behind the mantra (I usually thank her). As far as peace is concerned, well, I think I may be slightly more peaceful most of the time, but since mantra purifies on all levels, it doesn't really surprise me that I am not experiencing great changes at the superficial levels of mind and emotion. I'm certain a great deal of change is going on in the dark, hidden places of me. Without a doubt, Mother and Swamiji have given us a powerful blessing in this mantra and sankalpa. Jai Maa! Guest guest
Namaste Vish, here's something about my practice so far: after having experienced some difficulties lately in keeping to the the sankalpa daily, with many obstacles in the form of 'necessary' other activities and plain old laziness, I have found great help in the intervention of the Lord Ganesha, Divine Mother's son, who guards Her door and can show one who is lost the way back in again. So now, before starting each mala, I say a prayer to the Lord of Wisdom and He does remove all obstacles:). He opens the door. Om Shree Ganeshaya namah. I have experimented with times and places, and now, for me (I realize there are many ways of doing the sankalpa), it works best if I set about one hour apart especially for the UPS sankalpa and sit in an asana. Set the stage, so to speak. The first mala (or two) I usually need to become more focused and quiet. Then, on a good day, with each mala that follows, turning inside becomes easier. The body becomes heavier and the mind lighter, and I imagine that with each mantra a wave of clear water is washing all disturbances away. There are tingling and rippling sensations, and the waves spread in all directions. I like to think it is Mother's presence making it so and sometimes, I can just sit with Her, watching the waves and listening to the mantra. Many times, though, thoughts take my attention away again, and I just say the mantra and wish the hour was over. Sometimes I practically have to shout the mantra out loud to keep myself from getting up. But I trust Mother knows what She is doing. And the times that Peace is experienced are so precious that I find that the next day I am looking forward to sitting down for the sankalpa again. So there is a lot to look forward to, with love, Henny , " inspectionconnection108 " <inspectionconnection108 wrote: > > namaste > > Jai Maa > > I have been doing the Universal Peace Sankalpa mantra daily with great > attentiveness. Guest guest
Sounds like it's going really well, Henny. I think I enjoy a sankalpa best when I can get into a rhythm with it. When it becomes the focus of my day, even if it makes up only a relatively small part of it. There is a satisfaction in feeling that the sankalpa is the true purpose and center of my life, even when there are other things that take up the rest of my time. At such times, even obstacles when they arise, merely serve to add to my feelings of satisfaction as the sankalpa progresses. I don't know if there is anything inherently more satisfying that a really good sankalpa, " really good " meaning that I am wholly committed to it, and have full faith in it and anticipation for the results it will bring (hopefully they are unselfish). Guest guest
Namaste Carie, Much of the time I just enjoy the spontaneous rise of the mantra as well and when I can I count or make a note but mostly the love of it is greater than the need to count. I did finally find one of those counters which is easier to use when driving or sitting waiting on something. I can have it in my hand or coat pocket and draw less attention than when I am using my mala in public. It took three tries but finally found one at a sports store. Good luck.
