Guest guest
Sorry to bother you with questions. When is the appropriate time for the chanting? Guest guest
Hi Sankar, I doubt the details of the lunar calendar will be posted. It hasn't been done since the beginning. Rather, it has been the practice to encourage everyone to get their own panchanga and learn how to use it. This way, we do not become dependent on someone else for our sankalpas (and it cuts down on poor Nanda's workload). There is a panchanga available for download, prepared for the Western US. There are links on the same page to a world clock to help people who live elsewhere to adjust for their time zone, and a presentation (Power Point) to help one learn how to read a panchanga and make a sankalpa. Here's the link: http://www.shreemaa.org/drupal-4.7.3/panchanga_2006_2007_0 Jai Maa! Guest guest
Namaste! I began this sankalpa this morning - and soon realized that I was very confused! I just kept chanting, looking for the markers that are listed below, but couldn't find them named. So, I am wondering if, for those of us who are not as familiar with the text, some kind person can list the corresponding page numbers in the Chandi Path book. For instance, I looked in vain for something labelled " Kilakam " this morning and couldn't find it. I just want to be able to do this sankalpa correctly, and avoid complete discouragement. Thank you! -Sundari > > Day 1: Devata Pranam through Kilakam > Day 2: Devata Pranam through Shanti Path, and Vedoktam Ratri Shuktam through > Chapter 1 > Day 3: Devata Pranam through Shanti Path, and Chapters 2, 3 and 4 > Day 4: Devata Pranam through Shanti Path, and Chapters 5 and 6 > Day 5: Devata Pranam through Shanti Path, and Chapters 7 and 8 > Day 6: Devata Pranam through Shanti Path, and Chapters 9 and 10 > Day 7: Devata Pranam through Shanti Path, and Chapters 11, 12 and 13 > Day 8: Devata Pranam through Shanti Path, and Shapoddhara, utkilana, and > mritasamjivani mantras, Navarna Viddhi through Murti Rahasya > Day 9: Devata Pranam through Shanti Path, and Kshama Prathana through end >

Guest guest
Namaste Sundari, every day, we will be reciting the mantras beginning on page 14 (we bow to the respected Great Lord of Wisdom), and ending on page 33 (Om, Peace, Peace, Peace). Then we will also add a different part every day, so: on day 1, we go on with p.34 (Sapta Sloki Durga), and continue, ending with p.84 (why will people not sing Her praise?) on day 2, we recite p.14-33 AND p.86 (The Praise to the Night of Duality)- p.143 (end Chapter 1) then on the next days until day 8, we recite 14-33 AND the Chapters listed below on day 8, we recite p14-33 AND p.303 (The mantra that removes the curses)- p.357 (...Therefore I bow down to the Supreme Sovereign who is the form of the Universe) on day 9, we recite p.14-33 AND p.358 (Prayer for Forgiveness) - p.388 (...who takes aspirants across the difficult sea of objects and their relationships) I hope you have the same edition I use, otherwise we may get some confusion with page numbers. But the parts of the text I put in brackets after the pagenumber should help you identify the page. if I have made any mistakes, I pray somebody will correct me, with love, Henny , Sundari <erin.johansen wrote: > > Namaste! > > I began this sankalpa this morning - and soon realized that I was very > confused! Guest guest
Jai Maa !Some of the books come loose at the binding, but this is a blessing in disquise, because if one takes the book to a printer and has it bound with one of those spiral thingys, it is very much easier to use for chanting - because the book will lay flat and open, rather than having to be held open (since they want to close back up when they're new). Guest guest
Yes Nanda, That is one reason I enjoyed the fall apart feature but like it also because the pages all come out so nicely that I can punch and put in note book and it stays open to where you are without having to clip or weight the page. Wonderful how it turns out.Nirmalananda Saraswati <nirmalananda1008 wrote: Jai Maa !Some of the books come loose at the binding, but this is a blessing in disquise, because if one takes the book to a printer and has it bound with one of those spiral thingys, it is very much easier to use for chanting - because the book will lay flat and open, rather than having to be held open (since they want to close back up when they're new).
