Guest guest
Namaste Edward, I see where your confusion arose, now! This sankalpa doesn't follow the format of the online classes. Like the sarva badha mantra sankalpa, or the weekly mahamrityunjaya mantra sankalpa, it is done on your own and at a time of your choosing (within the days prescribed for each part of the text). It's a nice way to get a group energy without actually having to mess with the logistics of getting together at exactly the same time. As a special bonus, Shree Maa and Swamiji add their own " special help " behind the scenes for all of us who participate (they don't say so, but they do). Anything else? Let me know... Jai Maa! But, not ready to use the fire place yet, as it had been years ago since last homa. I do look forward to doing that with you some time in the near future. I am on vacation, sort of, transfering schools, so have plenty of time (vacationing here in Seattle), before moving to Portland in Oct. > > I have learn Sanskrit, but now that I have some time, I am wanting to use it more. One can start to forget and go at the snails pace, but gradually getting warm with recitations. I'm getting use to the lenght as well, gradually building in the timing. One thing I would like to ask is that, since this is my first reading any prayer book with a group, how is it done? With and or without the group? Guest guest
Hi Sundari! Good for you!! The trouble lies in two things, the page numbers for the various editions out there are different, and the table of contents in the Chandi Path are in English, while the headings in the text are in Sanskrit only. The Kilakam, called " atha kilakam " ( " atha " means " the " ) in the text, is in the Table of Contents as " The Praise Which Removes the Pin " . You shouldn't have any trouble finding it now. The rest of the assigned passages just take up where you left off the day before, so if you have trouble finding things in the Chandi Path, use a bookmark. Keep going!!! Many blessings!!! Jai Maa! Guest guest
Namaste, I believe "atha" means "now" or more loosely translated in this case "Now the". It is defined as "an auspicious and inceptive particle (not easily expressed in English)" You see it used in the beginning of many stotrams, sutras, etc, such as the Brahma Sutras, for example.
