Guest guest
Dear Family, Namaste and Pranams! Our Kashi Yatra continues. On Tuesday morning, we first went Trailinga Swami Ashram. Maa had told us that this was a place where She had done tapasya. This place is sublime. We went by boat. On the bank of Ganges some boys are having fun in the water. Some Sadhus are doing sadhana. As we entered the Ashram we went the Manager Shri Dixit. He recalled how Maa had come 60 devoteess many years ago (before She met Swamiji). He is a kind gentleman and we asked him to tell us about Trailinga Swami. Trailinga Swami is none other Lord Shiva. He showed us a giant Lingam that Trailinga Swami had carried from the Ganges and installed. It must have been several tons. He spoke in Hindi, so I was nodding my head Indian style. Ramya will fill in later. There was a cute idol of Sakshi Gopal. Shri Dixit lifted his crown and showed us a Shiva Lingam atop His head. There are only two such deities in India, the other is in Pandharpur. The idol was installed by the Mahratti saint Shri Eknath. There is a a most beautiful idol of Mother Kali. She is Kanya (Young) and unlike the usual depiction She is not standing on Lord Shiva. In front of Mother is a huge stone deity of Trailinga Swami. You can only bow down to this magnificent representation of this most inspiring Saint. Shri Dixit took us down to the cave were Trailinga Swami meditated. It was very still and we meditated for a few minutes. We then came to Mother Kali and chanted Adya Stotram, Her 100 names, and Her 1000 names. It was Bhaumavati (Tuesday) and Amavasya, so we were very happy. I could have stayed on. The atmosphere was so calm and divine and the world was a distant dream. But then .. We came out and were about to leave when a old lady peering out of a window called us to have darshan of Lord Krishna. We went up and she showed us Bindu Gopal - cuteness-squared. We made pranam. In the evening we came back to Kashi Vishwanath temple and chanted Chandi Patha and then Siva Sahasranam. Varanasi is hot but Divine. I wish you were all here with Maa and Swamiji. More later .... with love and prayers, srini
