Guest guest
Jai Maa Beloved Family, To continue the narration of Akshaya Thrithi celebrations - Lord Vishnu on Garud's shoulders was carried on a bench on sticks by several people to the accompaniment of music! In front were people chanting from Tamil scriptures and in the back was sanskrit chanting of Purusha Suktam. From time to time the procession halted and the priests performed arati. It was still early morning and birds were chirping and flowers blooming fresh and swaying in breeze. From time to time the procession halted and there was a little dance like movement by the carriers. The priest explained to us later that it we try to show different types of " walk " - snake walk, swan walk, fish walk....sorry it is hard to explain in words -- but it was beautiful and wish we could have all seen together!! After His travels, the Lord entered once more the Temple and main altar and we all partook in more prayers and prasads of farina pudding and rice and daal cooked in ghee! We sat in the corner and chanted the 1000 names of Vishnu and prayed for His grace upon all creation! Jai Maa! ramya:)
