Hello everyone, so yesterday was my first experience w/ chanting the

Chandi. After my work day, over dinner, I read the beginning as per

the 9-day schedule. Then I headed off for a bike ride along the river,

planning on doing the chanting before bedtime.

When I got on the highway, the first thing I noticed was the license

plate of the car in front of me...the three numbers followed by the

three letters which were MAA! And then, in front of that was a big

semi with a large picture of Lady Liberty on it and the company

name...Liberty Transport.

I just feel like Divine Mother is playing with me when these things

happen, following MAA, Liberty Transport, down to the river...

Here's a question: I chanted along w/ Shree Maa and Swamiji, listening

to the beautiful CD. I am just sitting and chanting, to learn. As I

go deeper into Chandi, what is the best way for me to learn the actual

ceremony of the Chandi? The flowers, the water, the mala, etc. Those

of you who chant the Chandi regularly, do you always do the ceremonial

offerings also?

Thank you, Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,

Congratulations! For me it seemed like a really huge step just opening

the Chandi and beginning to sound out the words. It sounds like you've

made a really good start.

Last month's sankalpa was the first time I ever used the physical

ingredients during the devata pranam. I enjoyed it. The offering of

the incense, light, flowers, and the water for the achaman are

basically the same in all of the pujas. I know I watched Swamiji do

and explain it in one of his relatively recent lessons, but I cannot

remember which it was!

OK, I checked and found it. It is the first Hanuman Puja lesson.

You'll definitely need a broadband connection to stream it, but if

you don't have one you may still be able to download and save it, but

it'll likely take awhile. I believe the files are around 70-100 Mb

each. Here is the link:

http://www.shreemaa.org/drupal-4.7.3/node/1042

To download and save, just allow the player window to open and watch

the progress bar on the player fill with gray. When it is full (not

before), right click on the downward facing triangle on the right side

of the player and select one of the save options. Make sure you save

it where you can find it again!

I would recommend too, that you download and print out Nanda's class

on the Beginner's Shiva Puja, located in the Group's Files section.

Here is the link for that:

This series of written lessons should complement the video very nicely.

Oh, you can pull the flowers from your heart as Swamiji does in the

video, seeing as how flowers can get expensive, or you can use silk

flowers over and over, like I (and some others) do. Fresh are

definitely nicer, but the silk ones look almost as beautiful on the altar!

Jai Maa!

Chris

It is truly uplifting when you all share your spiritual experiences.

Thanks for the encouragement.
