Guest guest
Hello All and thank you for the many inspiring and loving posts for company along my first 9-day Chandi journey. Every day has been a blessing. Each day I feel inspired by a focus. Yesterday it was the expression of the 'conveyance of the goddess' in a previous chapter. I went through the day exploring 'how is this (person, tree, whatever was right in front of me) a conveyance of the goddess? How am I a conveyance of the goddess? What does it mean, to be a conveyance of the goddess? etc. At the granting of boons I asked for an ever-present experience of genuine relationship with Divine Mother, in every moment, in every thought word action feeling etc. Today this has been my focus. (Today and every day, by her grace!) Here is a question that came up for me early on in Chapter 13, v4: " Knowledge is conferred by Her, the Perceivable Form of the Consciousness That Pervades All, and by Her you, this businessman, and others of discrimination are being deluded, have been deluded, and will be deluded. Oh Great King, take refuge in Her, the Supreme Sovereign. " I have had in my mind this silly notion that some day I will be beyond delusion. But this sounds pretty definite. Eternally deluded? Blissfully surrendered (taking refuge) in her perceivable form, is that what this is saying? I would love to hear how others experience this verse. Thank you, Jennifer
Guest guest
Hi Jennifer. Your devotion is inspiring! I think it's important to consider that just because the verse refers to Mother's perceivable form it doesn't automatically negate the same blessings from Her unperceivable form. It's not necessarily a limitation of any kind. Also, saying that we have been, are, and will be deluded by Her doesn't necessarily mean eternal delusion (though it may imply it). However, it definitely doesn't necessarily mean the same level of delusion in past, present and future. If there was to be no lessening of delusion, even for those who take refuge in Her, what would be the point? Swamiji is fond of saying, in so many words, that realization is an infinite process, there is never an end to it. So, from that you can infer that there will always be some degree of delusion (ignorance), because She is infinite. There is no end to the exploration of Her glories. To me this verse is an expression of hope that taking refuge in Divine Mother, even Her perceivable form, will result in the granting of knowledge that dispels delusion. Jai Maa! Guest guest
Dear Chris, thank you for your response, and especially for the reminder of Swami's teachings that realization is an eternal process. Always a becoming. After following Chandi to the end last night, I decided to spend today in gratitude, and as a part of that I was listening to the last classes on the CD. One of the most touching moments for me was when Swami was explaining that the sound 'ma' is the sound of an atom. He said it with such tenderness, and I thought, all of creation is continually singing it's own irreducible nature, 'ma'. I thought again of this verse, and realized that it was after these words from the wise one that the two seekers headed off to the river to do some serious worshipping. So maybe another aspect of the message is, quit focusing on trying not to be deluded and just worship Me in all of My manifestations! : ) Much gratitude for the opportunity to participate in this sankalpa. Words fail me. Jennifer , " Chris Kirner " <chriskirner1956 wrote: > > Hi Jennifer.
