The other day when I was able to get a garland of Champa flowers for

MAA. This is considered to be very auspicious. It has very good

fragrance. In fact they make scent out of these flowers.

You can see the flower here.

Mother mine, to the wild forest I am going,

Where upon the champa boughs the champa buds are blowing;

To the ksil-haunted river-isles where lotus lilies glisten,

The voices of the fairy folk are calling me: O listen!

---Sarojini Naidu, The Golden Threshold

Talking about flowers one of the rare flowers which I love is the Naga

Linga. It is called so because the flower has a small Siva Linga like

protrusion in the middle and a hood like a thousand headed snake.

You can see it here.

The tree is called the Cannonball tree. It is a native of South America.

Jai MAA !!!

You really enjoy your flowers, don't you!

They're really beautiful, and even though the botanists believe they

evolved such beauty in order to entice insects, we know the real

reason flowers are so beautiful, don't we?

Jai Maa!
