Guest guest
Namaste Dear Family, Today is Jyeshta Shukla Ekadashi. It is a special day to worship Krishna and Kali! The legend is that Sri Bhima, the second Pandava, asked Bhagavan Vyasji, the following " , " Bhagavan, my brothers fast on every Ekadashi, but I am unable to so. I am the son of Vayu and have an immense appetite. I can't keep up with my brothers on this fasting deal. Please tell me how I can obtain the same merit wthout fasting " . Vyaji replied, " Without drinking even water, you should fast on the Ekadashi that occurs during the light fortnight of the month of Jyeshtha (May-June) when the sun travels in the sign of Taurus (Vrishabh) and Gemini (Mithun). If a person endeavors to observe this great fast very strictly, he easily achieves the result of observing all twenty-four other Ekadashi fasts throughout the entire year. " Lord Krishna says the merit of fasting on ekadashi without water is one becomes free of all past sins. Also, Navami Krishna Pakshasya Shuklas Aikadashi Para Dakshasya Duhitha Devi Dakshayajna Vinashini On the ninth day of the dark fortnight, and on the eleventh day of the bright fortnight, remember the Goddess who is Daksha's daughter, the Destroyer of Daksha's sacrifice. -- Adya Stotram, Verse 13 in Swamiji's Kali Puja book I got up in the morning and was thinking that I would chant Vishnu Sahsranama, it being Ekadashi. I was sitting near the Durga altar and thinking, " Lord you are everything, I am only a small speck, keep me in your hand " . When I heard, Maa say, where is srini, what is he doing? I heard Ramya say, " He is just sitting, Maa. (I wanted to clarify that I was trying to meditate!!). Anyway, I thought I better check out what Maa wants me for. She looked at me and said, " Srini why don't chant Vishnu's 1000 names, it is Ekadashi " . And so I got the privilege offering ahuti at the Homa for the 1000 names of Vishnu and I added the Adya Stotram, Kali's 100 names, and Kali kavacham. Jai Maa! Jai Krishna! Jai kali! Love, srini
