Guest guest
Namaste Please read the Q and A with Swami about Shankari Kali's bad dream after asking for pure devotion after Chandi Chapter 13. He is reminding us that the roots of behaviors and experiences today are not just a result of last week's actions, but past lifetimes. I remind myself of a story I heard Swami say several times: 3 sadhus asked the Lord when they would become God realized. He replied to the first that it would take 50,000 lifetimes, and the sadhu was sad. To the second sadhu he said, 30,000 lifetimes. Another frown. To the third sadhu, he said 60,000 lifetimes. The sadhu jumped with joy and said, Praise to God, I will be liberated. We cannot know the samskaras which bring one to the experiences of this life. And, we cannot know when the Lord's Grace will grant us liberation. So, we have to do everything we can in our personal lives, and push thru lethargy, sloth, and the urge to sit and watch TV, and replace those impulses with the Lord's name. Ultimately, does it mater when we become liberated? It is not in our hands anyway. Life is in the living, in being a sadhu here and now, not living for liberation. or good dreams, or Maa's Grace. As Shankar states in the preface of the book, " Advanced Shiva Puja " , ..... " pray for the ability to accept with equanimity whatever God gives us. " And, from the Chandi, and Shiva, and All the Goddess texts, know that Maa's Grace can change the effects of past samskaras, and even adjust the influence of the plants on us, here and now, TODAY. love and Jai Ma Jai Swami vishweshwar
