Guest guest
NAMASTE: At the beginning of the Advanced Shiva Puja Book, published by the Devi Mandir, and translated by Swami, there are 5 verses written by Shankar Acharya in 700 A.D.. These verses encapsulate the essence of the message that Maa and Swami wish us to learn. Verse #1: always study words of wisdom and try with all of your capacity to act in accordance with them. Make the worship of the Supreme Lord following the systems of worship and do not contemplate adverse desires. Wipe all the dross of sins from your mind, search for the faults in the pleasures of the world, search your own soul for true knowledge, and quickly try to renounce the attachments to your home. Maa and Swami give us pure knowledge and ask that we do our best to study and practice worship and acting in the world with pure intentions. They want us to use our discrimination to keep our mind focused on God as much as possible, and keep away from thoughts, desires, and actions which will lead us away from God. They want us to become Self Sufficient. They can and will support as long as we do our best. What a blessing. How fortunate we are. Tomorrow night, verse #2.
