Guest guest
Namaste Eric: Regarding offering flowers when you perform puja: you offer flowers with each ete gandha puspe......, at the beginning of each puja. That is part of the beginning of most every puja we perform. Except in the Cosmic puja, there is no set way to place them on the altar, as far as I have learned for the beginner pujas. Since I have a murti for Shiva, Durga, Lakshmi, Kali, Sarasawti, and Ganesh, I offer each of them a flower as I chant their mantra / name. For the Gods or Goddesses that I do not have a murti, I offer the flower to the same location each time. I try to make the presentation and location as beautiful as possible, because, we are communicating our love and devotion to Them, so, beauty, and most importantly, our intention, is important. Maa and Swami have said many times that our intention is most important when performing puja. We may not know the language, or we may mispronounce the words, or we may not be able to sit in a perfect asan, but, if we have pure devotion and the intention to give our best to Them in worship, They will come to the puja to receive our worship, and give us darshan. I will never forget the first time that Maa came to my home in Iowa, and walked into our living room where we had our altar. As She stood in front of the altar She said,: " God is here!. God is really here. " Now please understand, I had been doing beginner Shiva puja for about 1 year, and not so well at that, but, I really loved worshipping Shiva, and I felt so thankful for the privilege to worship Him, that He came. And He stayed. Our family made that altar the center of our living room. Everything else was moved aside and God became the center of our lives. God will respond to your committment to worship. God will respond to your devotion, and God will bless you with His darshan, I have no doubt. So, do not worry about how well you perform the worship, just make the committment for daily worship, and no matter what, do it daily, and do it the best you can. And, as you begin each puja, ask Maa and Swami to come and help and guide you. They will hear your prayers and come too. This is my personal experience, and it will be yours too. May Shiva bless you will His Grace love Jai Maa Jai Swami vishweshwar , Eric Cassils <Quanchula1 wrote: > > Namaaste Devi Kula, > > I suppose I had the impression one was to offer > Camphor from watching Swaamiji's Cosmic Puja videos, > and since he says the Cosmic Puja is derived from the > Chandi, I thought that it applied to the Chandi as > well, and for some reason was not included in the > text.
