My mother has bipolar disorder, I called her last night to tell her about my recent success of getting 96% on my organic chemistry exam. She was in a manic swing, and accused me of lying about my grades, and demanded that I fax her the proof, and then accused me treating her badly which is anything but the truth. Even though it's a disorder, it is a huge lesson not to take things personally and not to be hurt. Im actually seeking proffesional help on how to deal with this disorder. I was upset with my mother for not sharing the joy with me and casting doubt on all my very hard work, it was then after reading this poem, and the Kathamrita that I realised I could share the joy with Maa and celebrate with Maa, and pine for Maa. As I read the chapters in the Chandi, I saw Maa slicing up all of my thoughts about my mother, and all my mother's thoughts about me. Thanks Tanmaya and Usha for the great reminders! Jai Maa Ki Jai!
