Guest guest
Namaste everybody! i was talking to Shree Maa the other day and the conversation turned to my job. I work in the service industry and don't necessarily enjoy it all the time. Some of the benefits are really cool, but it's not very challenging and becomes quite boring. Shree Maa didn't see it that way at all! " What a wonderful job you have! " She said, " You are blessed to be able to do seva all day long! In your job you serve food and you can say mantras and offer the food to Siva before you serve it to them. This way everybody you serve is getting prasad! What a joy! " I was speechless. And then i was sooooo grateful! Thank You, Maa, for showing that spirituality is not a lofty showy thing, but a truly simple and humble DAILY experience! Guest guest
THank you for posting this Gauri, What a blessing to hear. THis will make me see such things much diff., in the light of seva. And in that light what would be a quick way to offer each plate to siva as we are delivering the food to the table in this situation? And what would be the correct manner in which to bless our foods at home? THANK YOU GAURI gauri_108 <gauri_108 wrote: Namaste everybody!i was talking to Shree Maa the other day and the conversation turnedto my job. Guest guest
Namaste Gauri, Devi, Vishveshwar and everyone who has contributed to this discussion. I was wondering if this would include offering food that has meat and animal products? Thank you. Guest guest
Dear Gauri, Since reading this very inspiring message I was wondering if it is appropriate to ask Mother at Her convenience if She could say how this attitude can be applied to the various services offered in our different jobs. Accounting, Administrative, Secretarial, Teaching etc. Thanks for sharing. Guest guest
Thank you so much for sharing this story, it really meant a lot to me to read it just now, exactly what I needed to hear. It reminded me of this, from Shree Maa's Message: " Let all of our actions manifest our love. Work is visible love, the expression of love that we can see... Guest guest
Namaste Maadevi! I was just going to write about another conversation I had with Maa. This subject is to me the essence of what Swamiji means when He says, " We don't teach a spiritual practice, but a spiritual life " . What good is it to do the worship if it doesn't spill into your daily life, right? Anyways, Maa was talking to me about meditating in the morning and that I should say, " God/Siva, I offer my every action to You " . Simple! Just offer every calculation we make, every letter we type, every lesson we present to our students. And by making this offering before we even take a step, we are covered for the whole day.
